So Inlay Lake is one of the most attractive tour site of Myanmar.

Ywama is the largest village of the lake. The famous activity of the village is the floating market. Then there are so many teak house and bamboo on the water. The water passage across the village is absolutely beautiful.

Phaung Daw Oo Paya

Phaung Daw Oo is a Shrine of Buddha and the most famous Buddha shrine of the southern Shan State. There are five Buddha Images in this Shrine. The original style is not to be seen because of the gold leaf that the devout Buddhists gild daily. Every year on September or October there is a festival of Phaung Daw Oo Paya. During the festival the devotees carry four Buddha Images to the villages around the lake with huge Hinthaboat (mythical bird) in procession.

Mine Thauk market

It is a very large and busting market where you can find a real local atmosphere with the variety of products from the lake.

It is situated at the north of Ywama village. It was built 4 years earlier than Mandalay Palace and made of teak wood. The monks train their cat to jump into the hoop, so people call this monastery “ Cats jumping monastery”. The interesting thing is the complete collection of Buddha Images in Shan, Tibet, Bagan, Inwa styles.

Indein is a small village on the western bank of Inlay Lake. After going through the village you will reach the stairway to the shrine on the top of a hill. Around the shrine there are many stupas, most of them are standing ruined among the bushes.

It is the capital of southern Shan State , over 1430 meters above sea level and hill station, where is cool and pleasant all the year. The journey from Taunggyi down to Inlay area takes about an hour. The famous festival of Tunggyi is hot balloon festival in November.
